25-year old forward Andersson Mejia (201-F-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Marineros de Puerto Plata and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
He recorded a triple-double of 19 points adding also 14 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team beat Leones (#8, 5-10) 100-93. Marineros maintains the 5th position in Dominican Rep. league. Marineros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team's last game Mejia had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Marineros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Texas A&M University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mejia is in league's top in points (8th best: 18.7ppg) and averages solid 56.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Yeison Colome (190-SG-1996) of Caneros Del Este. He is a guard in his first season at Caneros. In the last game Colome recorded an impressive 34 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for Caneros to edge slightly lower-ranked Titanes (#7, 5-8) by 6 points 102-96. Caneros' 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-8 record. Colome is one of the most experienced players at Caneros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Caneros' star - forward Lazar Lugic (208-F-1998, agency: Dagger Basket). Lugic showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Caneros Del Este, helping his team with a 102-96 win against slightly lower-ranked Titanes (#7, 5-8). The chances of Caneros ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Lugic could help Caneros to bring them higher in the standings. Lugic has a very solid season. In 13 games in Dominican Republic he scored 12.5ppg. He also has 5.2rpg and a FGP of 60.3%.
